Maud Vogel

I'm a self-taught illustrator from Germany.

I felt drawn to painting early in life, but I've never really considered it a career option.

So I followed my connection to nature, studied Biology and worked in environmental protection. However, I never felt at ease, so I continued my journey.

This inner calling of being more creative, more childish and more magical got louder and louder. I finally listened and started investing serious time in my painting skills. In particular, I discovered the joys of digital illustration. I'm so grateful for everything that I'm learning, and I'm proud of myself for choosing this new path.

That's when the vision of becoming a children's illustrator arose. The vision of moving people's hearts with my pictures.

The vision of creating art where I can link my most important topics:

nature, magic, and mindfulness.

My vision has only just begun, I'm looking forward for new projects!

Want to know more yet? =)

I try to practise meditation and qigong everyday.

I love to fool around. At night, I love -literally- running with my dog through my village when there are no more people on the streets and everything is so quiet.

Another favourite of mine is snuggling up a cup of tea in the evening and watch the Legends of Aang and Korra, any Ghibli or old Disney films.

During painting, one of my favorite steps are the finishing touches ... when the picture is rounded off with scribble lines here and there =D

Pssssst! Do you want to now the meaning of Krickelhain? It's the name of the place where my great-great-grandfather secretly met his friends to invent wild plans of becoming the pencil king and conquering all the pencils and pens in the world!

For sure ;D
